Presenting Shania: the dog, the problem and the solution.
The dog. Shania is a three-year-old Hound mix who, along with five other Hounds, was seized from her home on March 3rd when the owner was charged with neglect. The best way to describe Shania? Simply happy! She is a typical Hound who likes to be outside exploring and playing, but also has a sweet and snuggly side. Shania loves to be around people, children, and other dogs. The problem. Shania and the other five Hounds were kept at the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission (JARM) shelter in Jasper County, South Carolina, pending the outcome of legal action against their owner. The court awarded the shelter ownership of the dogs and all were pulled except for Shania because she was heartworm positive.
The Solution. Erin Padgitt with One Love Animal Rescue in Georgia contacted RADAR about Shania on March 29th. The rescue was interested in pulling her; however, they needed help with her heartworm treatment costs. We agreed and Shania was safe! She had her heartworm treatment done on April 25th.
RADAR paid all of Shania’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $218.
