The tale of woe for Shiloh started on April 14th. On that day this five-year-old Beagle was surrendered to the Chesterfield County Animal Services shelter in South Carolina. Shiloh’s family did not have the means to care for him, so they surrendered him to the shelter with the hope that he could find a family with the ability to give him the care he needs and deserves. However, this sweet boy, who loves to play and give lots of kisses, tested heartworm positive. That put his life at risk in this rural shelter.
On April 15th, the shelter requested RADAR’s assistance. We agreed to assist with Shiloh’s heartworm treatment costs so that the shelter could better secure a rescue placement for him. Shiloh went for his first heartworm treatment on April 20th. Then came the good news on April 23rd that Furever Angels Animal Rescue in North Carolina stepped up to take Shiloh! Then a month later even better news came for Shiloh: he found his forever home!
The rescue shared this with us about Shiloh: “This little fellow is super sweet and has never met a stranger he didn’t like. His whole butt shakes and wiggles when he sees people! He is very people oriented, but also does great with all other dogs and cats. He walks well on a leash, and is a great car rider.” To see more photos of Shiloh, click here.
RADAR paid all of Shiloh’s initial heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $275.
