Oh, say, can you Si? A three-year-old Labrador Retriever mix, Si arrived as stray at the Chesterfield County Animal Services shelter in South Carolina on September 13th. Si had an injured eye that needed to be removed. He also was heartworm positive. Great with other dogs, and wonderful with people, Si deserved to get a much-needed second chance.

On October 5th, Debbie Thomas of Promises Animal Rescue in Virginia contacted RADAR. Debbie was interested in saving Si if we would help with his heartworm treatment costs. We agreed to assist. Si was neutered and had his injured eye removed on October 7th. His heartworm treatment took place on October 11th and 12th.

Si was fortunate to have a vet tech serve as his temporary foster before being transported to the rescue on November 12th. We were told this about Si: “He’s a super sweet boy! Missing an eye hasn’t let this slow him down. He is great with other dogs, but not with cats. He has been very affectionate with everyone he meets.” To see more photos of Si, click here.

RADAR paid $250 towards the heartworm treatment costs for Si.
