I bet a black dog isn’t exactly what you expected to see when you saw my name listed as Snow! Sometimes humans can be a bit crazy! I definitely know my people were having fun when they named me Snow even though I’m solid black! My person was funny like that! I really miss being at home, and sure miss my canine buddy Bear. When my person died, Bear and I didn’t know what to do. My person’s family couldn’t keep us, and brought us to the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina on May 21st.
The nice people at the shelter saw that Bear was very sick, and helped her cross the Rainbow Bridge. In only a few months I had lost everything I’ve ever known. I miss my family, I miss my friend, and I miss being home. The nice people at the shelter said they were going to help me find the perfect home so that I can be happy and loved again!
When the folks at RADAR found out about my dire situation on July 7th, they offered to cover my expensive heartworm treatment costs to encourage a rescue to take me. I kept my paws crossed, and a few days later on July 12th Home At Last Dog Rescue in Pennsylvania decided to take me! I had my nasty heartworm treatment done on July 28th.
I’m ready to get on with my life, thanks to the second chance I’ve been given by the folks at the shelter, my rescue and RADAR. I’m very calm and friendly. I will even sit when asked to do so! I walk well on a leash. I have no interest in cats. I love kids, and like to give them kisses! To see more photos of me, click here.
RADAR paid all of Snow’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $227.
