Snuggles sure had her share of struggles. An eight years old Shepherd-Shar Pei mix, Snuggles was surrendered by her owners to the Harnett County Animal Shelter in North Carolina in early March. Because she was an owner surrender and a senior in a high-kill rural shelter, her life was imminently in danger.
When Snuggles was first posted on March 4th, RADAR immediately provided an offer to assist with her vetting costs as an incentive for a rescue to pull her. A few days later, Brother Wolf Animal Rescue in North Carolina agreed to take Snuggles! When she went for her initial vetting, she was diagnosed with having mammary tumors, and masses on her leg and neck. Snuggles also tested heartworm positive. RADAR assisted with the cost of the surgery on July 2nd to remove her three masses. Unfortunately, the prognosis isn’t good for this sweet dog. The vet determined that she has two types of cancer.
Her rescue tells us that they “will keep her comfortable and love her until it is time for her to cross the Rainbow Bridge.” Snuggles is a very sweet girl, but has fear issues. To view more photos of Snuggles, click here.
RADAR paid $200 towards the surgery to remove two tumors from Snuggles.
