Sophia might just be the dog version of Sophia Loren, given her undeniable beauty! Somewhere between one and two years old, this Corgi mix ended up at the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina on October 19th when she was brought in as a stray. Sophia had no trouble impressing folks at the shelter with her strikingly good looks and graceful disposition, but space at the shelter was disappearing fast.

On November 6th, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, Susan Blakeney, inquired to see if we could help with Sophia. Caring for Creatures in Virginia, where Susan also volunteers, wanted to take her if his initial vetting and spaying costs were covered. We agreed. Things then progressed quickly for Sophia. Following routine vetting and spaying, she was transported to Caring for Creatures on November 10th, where her new adoptive family was waiting for her!

“Everyone loves Sophia,” we were told by Susan, “This small cutie pie is all tail wags and swiveling hips with everyone she meets!  She’d be an excellent choice for a family with kids and dogs and, yes, even cats (we caught her sunning next to one at the shelter!). Sophia is the complete pet package!” Click here to view more photos of Sophia.

RADAR paid all of Sophia’s initial vetting and spaying costs, which totaled $183.

UPDATE! Sophia has been adopted! Her new brother is RADAR-assisted Russell, who was adopted earlier this year. His new Mom & Dad wanted a friend for him, and Sophia was a perfect match!

UPDATE! All funds for Sophia have been raised! Thank you!
