Yes, sir! It’s Spencer! Estimated to be two to three years old, Spencer is a handsome Labrador Retriever mix who arrived as a stray at the Rowan County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on June 4th. Time was not on Spencer’s side at this crowded rural kill shelter. He had to be adopted or have a rescue commitment by the end of the day on June 9th.

Folks were networking Spencer non-stop to find a rescue. On June 9th, with just a few hours left, RADAR was asked to help. We immediately provided an offer to assist with his vetting as an incentive for a rescue to take him. With only minutes to spare, High Plains P.A.W. (People for Animal Welfare) in Nebraska agreed to take Spencer! He had his initial vetting and neutering done on July 1st. Thanks to a voucher for his neutering, the total vet bill was only $55.

Here are some things we were told about Spencer: “He is friendly, leash trained and knows how to sit. He walks well on a leash. Spencer is a very sweet guy who enjoys getting treats and attention!” To see more photos of Spencer, click here.

RADAR paid all $55 of the costs for Spencer’s initial vetting.

UPDATE! All funds for Spencer have been raised! Thank you!
