Sunday arrived on a Monday at the Duplin County Animal Shelter in North Carolina, it was Monday, March 4th to be exact. He was a stray Beagle mix around three to four years old. No one knew his story but he needed help at this crowded shelter. He was not neutered, had cherry eye that needed surgery and was heartworm positive.
On March 11th, Staci Ventura of Adoption First Animal Rescue in North Carolina contacted RADAR. The rescue wanted to pull Sunday from the shelter, but needed assistance with his medical costs. We agreed to help and he was rescued the same day! Sunday had his cherry eye surgery and was neutered on March 12th.
“Sunday was dog tested and could care less about any dogs,” Staci said in a March 18th update to us. “He just likes to do his own thing and be with people. He is a total love bug and is healing great from his surgery. He has started his medication for the beginning of his heartworm treatment.”
Sunday was adopted on a Saturday! On March 30th, Staci shared this with us: “Sunday was adopted today! He found a home with a very nice woman who works from home and her grandkids come to visit, so he’ll have some little people around too!” To see more photos of Sunday, click here.
RADAR paid all $325 of the cherry eye surgery and neutering costs for Sunday.
