Sunset, also known as Anya, was taken to the Clarendon County Animal Control shelter in South Carolina on April 15th when she was found as a stray. This five-year-old Bully Breed mix waited in the shelter for a rescue or adopter to save her, but months passed with no sign of help. Despite earning a reputation as being incredibly sweet and well-behaved, being a Bully Breed and heartworm positive were making it difficult for her to find a forever home.
On June 18th, Anna Cilento of Surulana Animal Rescue reached out to RADAR and let us know that they were interested in pulling Sunset from the shelter, but they needed help with the cost of Sunset’s heartworm treatment. We agreed to assist, and Sunset was safe! She got her pre-heartworm tests on July 27th and her treatment on August 17th.
“Sunset is a beautiful girl with a wonderful personality,” Anna told us. “She loves people and dogs, is crate trained and house trained, walks well on a leash, loves her walks and her quiet time. Sunset would be perfect for a family, and she is so easy going that it is great to be around her. She is a medium-size dog, with beautiful marks and deep dark eyes.” Click here to view more photos of Sunset.
RADAR paid all of Sunset’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $357.
