Sweet Pea earned her name after impressing the staff at the Duplin County Animal Shelter in North Carolina with her incredibly sweet personality. Found as a stray on April 9th, this two-year-old Beagle mix captured the hearts of everyone around her. Shelter staff were working hard to save her, but she was running out of time. Unfortunately, Sweet Pea tested positive for heartworms.
On April 16th, Marlianne Midyette with Love Mutts Rescue in North Carolina contacted RADAR to see if we could help with the cost of the heartworm medication for Sweet Pea. We agreed to assist, and Sweet Pea was one step closer to finding her forever home!
We learned that Sweet Pea loves young children and dogs, she’s leash trained and a great follower, and she’s a good car rider. Anyone who came across Sweet Pea had only good things to say about her. “Her time was up, and the staff contacted all the rescues they knew to save her… she is that special,” Marlianne told us. RADAR paid all of Sweet Pea’s heartworm treatment medication costs, which totaled $116.
