Tay Tay

Say what you may, be it nay or okay, but we had to help save Tay Tay! A six-year-old beautifully brindled Bully Breed mix, Tay Tay was surrendered by her owner on March 9th to the Aiken County Animal Shelter in South Carolina. Like so many dogs in the Southeast, Tay Tay tested positive for heartworms. At this shelter that meant that she was unable to be adopted. Her only way out of the shelter alive would be with a rescue commitment.

When it comes to saving the heartworm positive dogs at the Aiken shelter, Mary Lou Seymour with The Heart Beat Goes On program will never say nay! Mary Lou began her quest to find a rescue for Tay Tay on March 11th. Without any rescue payday for Tay Tay, Shelter Animals Advocates, the parent organization for The Heart Beat Goes On, decided to try to take Tay Tay. However, funding was needed. Mary Lou asked RADAR to help on March 20th. We agreed and Tay Tay said, “Yay!”

Tay Tay’s heartworm treatment took place on April 4th and 5th. December Clark, Mary Lou’s partner with The Heart Beat Goes On, had this to say about Tay Tay: “She’s a bit timid, but sweet. She has a easygoing demeanor. She’s potty trained. She can be a bit hesitant walking on a leash.” Click here to view more photos of Tay Tay.

RADAR paid $300 towards Tay Tay’s heartworm treatment costs
