What Taz desperately need was some razzmatazz! He spent six long months waiting for a rescue commitment. On August 13th Taz was surrendered to the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina. About a year old at the time, this Chow Chow-Shepherd mix had the misfortune of being heartworm positive. Early on, when his time was about up, Taz was able to get a foster home placement. But no rescue ever spoke for him.
So when One Life to Live Pet Rescue and Adoption in Pennsylvania expressed interest in taking Taz on February 16th, Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, wasted no time in asking for our help. The rescue would take Taz if the cost of his heartworm treatment could be covered. We agreed to do just that, and Taz was safe! He received his heartworm treatment on March 29th.
“Taz is a happy playful guy who loves to run,” we were told. “He is very affectionate and will do a happy dance when he sees you coming to give him some attention! If you love to be on the go and would like a gorgeous, energetic best friend to keep you company, Taz may be your man! He is super lovable and gentle. Play with him, pet him, walk him, whatever you like to do, he will thoroughly enjoy. He loves everything!” To view more photos of Taz, click here.
RADAR paid all of Taz’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $252.
