No more tears for Teara! When animal control came to pick up this stray one-year-old Bully Breed mix, she ran to a particular house. But her owners were not there. The theory is that she was probably abandoned. Teara was taken to the Surry County Animal Control shelter in North Carolina on January 3rd. The deadline for Teara to find an adopter or rescue was January 12th.

Mayberry 4 Paws in North Carolina, an organization that helps facilitate and find rescues for the at-risk dogs at this shelter, contacted RADAR on January 10th to ask for our help with Teara. We agreed to assist, and Teara was safe! A few days later, Virginia Beach SPCA offered to take Teara. She had her initial vetting done on January 13th, and then was off to the rescue.

Teara was called an ‘aggressive stray’ at the shelter. However, that might have been due to her being in heat. Fortunately, once out of the shelter, she showed no aggression and, in fact, was timid and sweet! She is affectionate, and friendly with people and other dogs. RADAR paid all $72 of the initial vetting costs for Teara.
