Rather than a rumble of thunder, how about a ramble with Thunder! A nine-year-old Bully Breed mix, Thunder was surrendered to the Duplin County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on July 20th. His caregiver was moving and she could not take him with her. Thunder was not her dog, but because his owner had neglected him, she had became Thunder’s primary caregiver. Unfortunately for Thunder, he had heartworms.
Emily from Ruby’s Misfits Animal Rescue in North Carolina, visited Thunder at the shelter and fell in love with him. The next day, on July 23rd, Jennifer Watson of Ruby’s Misfits contacted RADAR to ask if we could help with Thunder’s heartworm treatment costs. If so, the rescue would pull him. We agreed and Thunder was pulled by Emily the same day, and she was now Thunder’s foster Mom! His heartworm treatments began on August 28th.
Emily told us, “Thunder is quite spoiled! His favorite place to be (besides his foster Mom’s lap) is on his orthopedic bed chewing one of his bones. His tail goes a million miles a minute when you look his way or say his name! He’s happy as can be! He’s completed his first round of injections and his body seems to be tolerating the treatment well.” Click here to view more photos of Thunder.
RADAR paid $250 towards Thunder’s heartworm treatment costs.
UPDATE! All funds for Thunder have been raised! Thank you!
