Tip, a two- to three-year-old Bully Breed mix, needed the scales to tip in her favor after she found herself at the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina. Her owner surrendered her to the shelter on October 4th after finding out that their child had become allergic to Tip. Folks at the shelter could tell that even though Tip was getting used to shelter life, she clearly missed having a real place to call home. Sadly, Tip was facing another big problem: she was heartworm positive.
On November 30th, Home At Last Dog Rescue in Pennsylvania offered to take Tip if the cost of her heartworm treatment could be covered. Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, asked if we could help with Tip, and we agreed! She received her heartworm treatment on December 4th.
We were told this about Tip from her time at the shelter: “Tip has met other dogs and been friendly and social with all. She’s a wonderful smaller size and just about as cute as they come! This little girl is ready to get back into a home and spend the rest of her days being a cherished family member. Take a look at adorable Tip, she’s waiting for her forever home to come along and hopes it will be soon!” Click here to view more photos of Tip.
RADAR paid all of Tip’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $185.
UPDATE! All funds for Tip have been raised! Thank you!
