Toto wanted nothing more than to click her heels like Dorothy and be home. Instead, this three-year-old Shepherd mix was thrown over the fence of the Harnett County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on November 6th. It was painfully clear that Toto hadn’t been properly cared for, as she tested high positive for heartworms, which lessened her chances of being rescued or adopted.

On November 14th, Judith Texier of CrisisDogsNC in North Carolina reached out to RADAR for help with Toto. If we could help with her heartworm treatment costs, she would pull her and place her in a foster home. We agreed and Toto was safe!

Toto had her heartworm treatments on January 2nd and February 7th. “Toto is a very gentle and extremely docile dog,” Judith told us. To see more photos of Toto, click here.

RADAR paid $319 towards the heartworm treatment costs for Toto.
