Trapper, a two-year-old Hound, has trapped the hearts of many! For a while, he spent his time wandering as a stray in a South Carolina community, and while everyone in his old stomping grounds loved him, they knew that what he really needed was to find his forever home. Sadly, after Trapper ended up at the Darlington County Animal Shelter in South Carolina on July 5th, he found himself on the urgent list, and had until October 25th to be saved. And after testing heartworm positive, Trapper was even more at risk.
With just a week remaining, on October 18th, Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, asked if we could help with Trapper. Puppy Paws Rescue in Maryland would take him if his heartworm treatment costs could be covered. We agreed to assist, and Trapper was safe! He received his treatment on November 7th.
Trapper loves to make new friends, and he gets along with dogs, cats and people. He enjoys running and playing, and he thrives when he gets to interact with others. Folks at the shelter loved how mellow he is. In fact, he’s so mellow that when a staff person had to draw blood from him, she was able to do so single-handedly, proving just how easygoing he is! RADAR paid all of Trapper’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $301.
