Triton is quite an exceptional dog, a heartthrob who brightened up the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina the minute he trotted in as a stray on October 8th. The shelter did not frighten Triton one bit, for the two-year-old Shepherd mix has a megawatt personality that casts a spell over dogs and people alike, and makes everyone adore him. Unfortunately Triton also had heartworms. He was a very adoptable dog who came with a very high price tag – the cost of heartworm treatment.
On October 30th, Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, asked us for assistance with Triton’s heartworm treatment expenses. Home At Last Dog Rescue in Pennsylvania was willing to take Triton if the cost of the heartworm treatment were covered. We agreed, and Triton was safe! He had his heartworm treatment on November 10th.
Susan says that Triton was the biggest ladies’ man at the shelter, but when it came to cats, he kept a very gentlemanly and proper distance. When he came out to have his pictures taken, he hugged the photographer before trotting along beside her! What a flirt! Triton has impeccable leash manners and is ready to promenade with his forever mate. Click here to view more photos of Triton.
RADAR paid all of Triton’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $302.
