Little Trixie is as cute as a pixie! This Pomeranian mix arrived at the Mercer County Animal Shelter in West Virginia on November 4th. She was surrendered to the shelter by her owners. The reason is unknown. What is known is that Trixie was at risk of being euthanized. It did not help her cause that she was listed as a senior dog, and was in need of dental care.
Paws for Seniors rescue in Virginia was interested in taking Trixie. They contacted RADAR on November 15th to see if we could assist. We agreed, and Trixie was safely out of the shelter the very same day! She went directly to the vet. In addition to her initial vetting and spaying, Trixie received much-needed dental care. As it turned out, Trixie provided us with a bit of a trick. While the shelter listed her as a senior, the vet estimated her to be about four or five years old!
The folks at Paws for Seniors shared this with us about Trixie: “She is a sweet girl who just loves to be held, and who could resist when they come as cute as she does? She would make a perfect lap dog or “arm candy” to the person who adopts her. And that person will definitely have a hard time not spoiling this little princess!” To see more photos of Trixie, click here.
RADAR paid $200 towards the initial vetting, spaying and dental treatment costs for Trixie.
UPDATE! Trixie has been adopted!
