Unlike boxer Mike Tyson, this Boxer Tyson is a lover, not a fighter! Estimated to be eight years old, Tyson entered the Chester County Animal Care & Control shelter in South Carolina on December 15th. We’re not sure how or why he ended up at the shelter, but Tyson was emaciated. An adopter was all set to take him, but when they found out he was heartworm positive they did not want him.

On January 8th, My Dog House Rescue in South Carolina requested RADAR’s help with Tyson. They would pull him if we could help with his heartworm treatment costs. We agreed and Tyson was safely out of the shelter the next day! On February 28th and March 1st, Tyson had his heartworm treatment done.

The rescue shared this with us about Tyson: “He is a sweet boy. True to his breed namesake, he does like to box you, but in a friendly manner. He has sweet brown eyes that say, ‘just love me and I will love you back!’ Tyson does not act like a eight-year-old dog. He wants to go for walks. And, he loves other dogs.” To see more photos of Tyson, click here.

RADAR paid all $340 of the heartworm treatment costs for Tyson.
