This dog would like nothing more than to be your Valentine! Approximately seven years old and a Shepherd mix, he was found as a stray. Because he arrived at the Blount County Animal Shelter in Tennessee on February 14th, he was given the name Valentine! Unfortunately, his Valentine heart also included heartworms for this guy. In addition, he had a painful dead tooth, which was removed on February 27th.
On February 25th, RADAR’s liaison at the shelter, Kristen Baksa, contacted us for help with Valentine’s heartworm treatment. “Everyone at the shelter loves this boy!” Kristen told us. “But I guess his owners weren’t too crazy about him, since they never came looking for him.” We agreed to help, and he had his treatment on done on March 15th.
“Valentine is the calmest, easiest dog ever!” Kristin said. “He loves people, dogs and cats. He’s such a good boy. He deserves a home where his family appreciates him, gives him a nice warm bed, plenty of food, and plenty of attention and love. The family that adopts this dog will be very, very lucky!” Click here to view more photos of Valentine.
RADAR paid all of Valentine’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $354.
UPDATE! All funds for Valentine have been raised! Thank you!
