Yoo-Hoo! Is anyone there? Why, yes, it’s four-year-old Beagle-Hound mix Yoo-Hoo! She ended up at the Duplin County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on February 2nd. When she arrived on the scene, it became clear that there were a few things that needed to be taken care of so that Yoo-Hoo could live a happier, healthier life. Sadly, one of those things was that Yoo-Hoo tested heartworm positive.

On February 6th, Marlianne Midyette with Love Mutts Rescue in North Carolina reached out to RADAR for help with Yoo-Hoo. If we could assist with her vetting and heartworm treatment costs, Marlianne would be able to pull her from the shelter. We agreed to assist, securing Yoo-Hoo’s rescue commitment. Yoo-Hoo had several things taken care of on February 23rd, including her spaying, mass removal surgery, biopsy, dental cleaning and starting her heartworm treatment medications.

Marlianne told us that Yoo-Hoo is a sweet girl who acts tired, “like she has been lost for a while.” Despite the fact that she might be a little worn out from being on her own for a long time, Yoo-Hoo has a sweet, charismatic personality. She is also great with other dogs, and she does well on a leash. She’ll even ask you to pick her up! To see more photos of Yoo-Hoo, click here.

RADAR paid $250 towards the spaying, mass removal surgery, biopsy, dental cleaning and heartworm medication costs for Yoo-Hoo.
