Presenting Yvonne: the dog, the problem and the solution.

The dog. Yvonne is a three- to four-year-old Boxer-Bully Breed mix. She is described as being a very sweet and really good dog. She is pretty chill, and not overly energetic. She greets folks affectionately. She doesn’t mind attention, but isn’t one who seeks it out. Click here to view more photos of Yvonne.

The problem. Yvonne and her pup, Yvette, were found as strays in a restaurant parking lot on September 29th. They were taken to the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina. Not surprisingly, Yvonne tested positive for heartworms. On October 11th, One Life to Live Rescue and Adoption in Pennsylvania expressed interest in taking both Yvonne and her pup. There was just one hitch: the cost of her heartworm treatment.

The Solution. RADAR, of course! Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, immediately turned to us for our help with Yvonne. We agreed at once, enabling both dogs to get their rescue commitment! Yvonne had her heartworm treatments on October 30th and December 5th.

RADAR paid all of Yvonne’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $443.
