Zumba arrived as an owner surrender at the Harnett County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on November 6th, after his owner went to a nursing home. The three- to five-year-old Puggle had scars on his head, and was very terrified. Little did Zumba know that he was also heartworm positive and was on the shelter’s euthanasia list.

Judith Texier of CrisisDogsNC in North Carolina immediately reached out to RADAR for help with Zumba. If we could help with his costs, she would pull him and place him in a foster home. We agreed and Zumba was safe! He began his pre-heartworm treatment medications on November 14th and was neutered on November 20th.

Zumba is a little on the timid side, but does warm up to you! He loves being outside and going for walks. In December Zumba had the good fortune to get adopted! “The couple is ideal,” Judith told us. “They are used to traumatized dogs, and have a wonderful and calm house for him.” The couple also covered the cost of his heartworm treatment. Click here to view more photos of Zumba.

RADAR paid all of Zumba’s neutering and pre-heartworm treatment medication costs, which totaled $114.

UPDATE! Zumba has been adopted!
